The Wild Plant Laboratory
Inspired by the connection between land and textile craft, I make felted sheepskin rugs from an organic conservation grazed flock of Gotland X Shetland sheep. Supporting farmers who engage in ecological farming practices to conserve and regenerate our land is important to my craft. I am a spinner and natural dyer, who enjoys using the different techniques and skills of these heritage crafts to transform wool from its raw state into spun yarns.
I undertake felted rug commissions and teach both spinning on a wheel and felting from my studio in Hampshire. I run several felting workshops a year at the farm in Oxfordshire so participants can connect with the flock before using some of the fleece to create a felted seat pad.
