Southampton Uni art and craft fair 2020 cancelled

1st August, 2020 | 0 comments

A further victim of the coronavirus in 2020 is the normally popular Southampton University Christmas art, craft and gift fair, which was due to be held at the end of November.

This cancellation is a further blow to artists and craftspeople, who have had so many of their events cancelled this year because of Covid-19. In 2019 the Wessex Guild members had their own dedicated room at the university’s fair and the many friendly visitors ensured it was very successful for all involved.

As it is held close to Christmas, it is normally a great place to buy unique and unusual gifts and decorations that aren’t available on the High Street.

However, if you would like to get your bespoke artworks and presents directly from the artists and makers, do have a look at our members’ pages and contact them with your requirements. What a good way to show friends and loved ones you care with something truly original, in the knowledge that you are also supporting artists and craftspeople to keep their businesses going.

We hope that we will return to Southampton University in 2021 – watch this space for the latest information!
