I use a variety of hand-dyed fabrics in my work, from fine silk chiffon to velvet. These fabrics are machine embroidered to create pictures, which have both depth and texture. I also produce cushions, velvet scarves and bags, which are all hand dyed and totally individual. All of my work is unique in design and has been sold at craft fairs and art exhibitions.
The inspiration for my work is drawn from nature, the countryside around Hampshire, the North Devon coastline and holidays abroad. I use both drawings and photographs in my design process.
I am a member of a textile group called Force 8 and have exhibited in a number of venues, including Highcliffe Castle in Dorset, Winchester Cathedral and Chichester Cathedral.
I undertake commissions and teach small groups at my home. I am also available to give workshops and demonstrations to larger groups.
